one of the other soccer dads was taking full advantage of what may be some of the last dry warm days to take his toy out.

had to be dry, becuase those tyres aren’t going to do well in even a moderate misting of rain :D

sounded good coming and going too. which it did a few times during practice. I mean why sit and listen to a podcast like I was when you could go trundle about in a Gulf liveried Porsche?

Note though, it does appear to be losing in this race against m wife’s CR-V and my kid’s coach’s CR-V

Yeah but in all fairness those CRVs can be quicker than you’d expect and an old Beetle can only keep up so much.

certianly if the challenge is “which car can more quickly transport 5 people and a pile of camping gear” the CRV will win by only having to make one trip :D
